What's up with Hector?
The Cowslingers are playing shows?
There’s a lot going on here lately. First, as you may have noticed, we had to launch a new website. Without warning the company that hosted our website disappeared and took all of it with them. I have no clue what happened there. It’s like someone must have entered the Witness Protection Program, because the people that handled this for us are GONE. There is literally no trace of them. Poof. That means I had to spend a day figuring out how to get this together, trying to change file types, uploading crap, etc. I’ll tell you what, I’ll bet bands like Train have a whole team handling this type of shit. This is real DIY over here at Daredevil Central. I’ll keep adding content to it as I feel like it, but this is a good source of when we are playing gigs. Add yourself into our email data base and we will send out news flashes to you as well, but not with the annoying frequency like Target or Home Depot does.
As you have seen, 3/4s of the band has been playing Cowslingers shows with original guitarist Bobby Latina and Sugar playing Krusty’s bass parts. This is for a couple of reasons. First, Hector messed up his shoulder, so he is getting surgery to fix it once and for all. He ripped it up really good, so this whole ordeal is going to sideline him for a few months. So, before any of that happened, we had been rehearsing to play some Cowslingers songs at Bobby Latina’s birthday party just for the fun of it. We were going to play a Daredevils gig at his party and then play 6-7 Cowslingers songs at the end with Bobby. Then Hector tore his shoulder, and we figured we’d teach Sugar some more Cowslingers songs and play a full set. The band sounds pretty good, especially if Leo keeps the edible consumption down, so when we were faced with cancelling some booked Whiskey Daredevils shows, we figured we might as well trot The Cowslingers out for those.
We will keep you up to date on how Hector is mending up, future live gigs, some new mech, and other musings in this space as that all develops. Until then, remember to leave the house, and come see us every now and again.
