The Whiskey Daredevils have always taken the path less traveled to promote the band. While other bands foolishly waste their time on national tours, placement in national music magazines like Rolling Stone/Spin, and national sponsorship deals with massive corporations, the Daredevils have always operated on the fringes. In the spirit of the Whiskey Daredevils appearance on the Food Network's "Dinner Impossible", the band has once agin tapped into a major fringe element. Yes, fishing and punk rock have come together on Field and Stream's "Hook Shots" and the Daredevils are all over it. Check out the latest video installment of Hook Shots and note how seamlessly "Greasy Box" slides into a video about punk rock guys catching catfish. http://www.fieldandstream.com/hook-shots Seriously, these really seem like our kind of people. It's worth a look even if you don't like to "wet your line"... and that's not meant as a cheap sexual reference!
This weekend the band is at the always interesting Green Lantern in Lexington KY. Last time there it was couples dance only, as the dance floor was filled with well heeled couples cutting it up. Who knows what Good Friday will bring? On Saturday the boys go to one of their favorite little roadhouse joints in Ft Wayne Indiana, The Brass Rail. In possession of one of the best jukeboxes this side of the Mississippi, the Brass Rail is a good hang. I'd order the Three Floyds "Gumball Head" if I were you, but you can do what you want at the Brass Rail. The Sour Mash Kats open, so make sure and get there early!
