At long last the band climbs in the van and comes out to see you (hopefully). Friday we'll be in Ft Wayne to see our new pals at The Brass Rail. This is a club that is run by folks really enthusiastic about the music, so that always is great to come and play there. Great jukebox there too by the way... Saturday the Daredevils play a new venue for the band in Columbus at Cafe Bourbon Street. We were told by folks wired in to the "scene" that this was a "cool place to play". I'll admit we are a little uneasy about this show as there has been little evidence that anyone in the city of Columbus is even aware of the show. Also, we may or may not have a support band, so if we don't we'll be playing one really long set of pretty much anything you would want to hear us play (and probably plenty you'd prefer we hadn't). Make us feel good about ourselves and come out if you can.
We are still waiting to mix the acoustic EP at 609. The hope was to go on on Thursday, but those God Damn Lords of the Highway are starting a new record that night, so the mix has to wait until next week. I will tell you this. As soon as the mix is done, it will be sent to the pressing plant and made available here at the site and at all of our shows ASAP.
We are working on some pretty exciting shows for the Summer, and we'll add those onto the list as soon as they get confirmed. One to make sure to put onto your calendar is next Friday night May 21st as The Daredevils and Greg's Lottery League band "The Elks" will play the Beachland Tavern joined by Canton rockabilly band Rumble Daddy. With this combination of The Whiskey Daredevils and America's #1 Lodge Rock band "The Elks", this should be a real winner. The Elks only have a 20 minute set, so get there early. It goes by fast and they play first. The Tavern shows have sold out the last two times we've held them there, so buy your tix in advance if you want to make sure and be there. www.beachlandballroom.com
