The Whiskey Daredevils are poised to make their triumphant return to the live stage, whether anyone wants them to or not. Sugar has almost completely recovered from that nasty shoulder procedure. There aren't many people that get knee operations and rotator cuff surgery within three months that aren't involved in either MMA or the NFL. This just offers rock hard proof that the music the Daredevils bring to the people is 100% bona fide 140 proof concrete American rock and/or roll. It's not for candyasses.
The new record is done. It is recorded, mixed and ready to be mastered. Hats off to Dexter Green and his entire crew at SeaLab Studios, especially Floyd for all his help. It's always great to be in Nashville making music, where even the waiters and dishwashers are more talented than most Grammy winners. The game plan is to get the artwork finished up (with Will Ruocco once again coming with his disturbed vision), and then send that off to Mosh in the Fatherland. The gameplan is to press it on quality 12 inch vinyl with the good old download code for those that want to squash it into their itunes or whatever MP3 player they happen to use. Remember, the way God intended was to listen to this record real loud on a turntable with a twelve pack and a couple friends so you can comment, "Hey, that was a good one!" after each song.
With Sugar being down, that left idle hands being the Devil's Playthings. By the time she returns to the practice space next week, she'll have six brand new almost stage ready tunes ready for her to learn. That should make her happy. Who doesn't want the extra pressure of learning new songs when trying to make your shoulder remember how it works? Still, the mantra is always the same... If you aren't moving forward, you are falling behind.
The band is actively adding new dates. If you want the Whiskey Daredevils to come play your place, just drop the band a line. You know they'd love to come by...
